This is the reading and music fusion night run by my dear friend, T. Paul Ste. Marie, at Cafe Montmartre.

orchid highway
Oh, my God these boys have good pants. And they can play music. Pop music. Good pop music.
And they hang citrus fruit in a decorative manner. And I'm dating one of them.

Gutwrench
Scathing, absurdist, hilarious, dumbass-smartie pants sketch comedy. YAY!

World Class Artists

dr minz
Dr Minz is a demented old friend from my Toronto days. He recently landed in Vancouver, to my dee-light. He is also the best animator I know. He's a painter and a musician too and he writes really funny email. There's a full length flash video on his site for Adrian Belew and the Bears' "Mr. Bonaparte." It will amaze and astound you.

exu nazares
Exu Nazares is the founder of New Voudou Electric, the art collective - slash - psychedelic voudou ensemble that I was involved in during the ashe gallery era. (1991-93) I did some tracks with Exu's band The Technicians on their Wicked City project. Exu is a fantastic multi-disciplinary artist and definitely a big influence on my work and spirit.

mk naomi
Craig Riddock writes and performs original electronic music under the moniker mk naomi.
Craig gave me my first shot at performing with music. He's a great artist.

Spoken Word

cristin okeefe aptowicz
WOW ooh, ooh, ack, it's cristin's site. She's pure manic energy, baby. One of my very favorites. How can you not love a girl who writes a book called "hot teen slut gets fucked in the head"?

livepoets.com
My good friend Gabrielle Bouliane runs this poet archive site out of Seattle. It is amazing.

poetry slam inc.
The governing board of the Poetry Slam movement and a very informative site about the competitive art of spoken word.

taylor mali
Taylor is a NYC phenomenon.

SlamNation
This is a link to the Paul Devlin film that details the Machiavellian side of the slam. There are a lot of great outtakes, too. While you're there, check out www.slamnation.com/slamamerica for some excellent video (one including moi) that Paul shot during his travels with the SlamAmerica tour in the summer of 2000.

beau sia
Just go see Beau.

wammo
This Austin, TX writer and musician is one of the most inspiring guys
I've ever met.
Ok, that's the last time I ever say anything sincere about Wammo.
Check out his diary.
